Royal Marine Hotel. I spent the night here. Ivy Rose Murphy the main character in my books about Dublin stops here for tea. I’m glad I wrote the scene before I visited. My childhood memory of this hotel is the main building sitting in extensive grounds that led down to the sea. These gardens have been sold off and rather ugly apartment blocks have been erected. I was saddened but heigh ho I guess that’s progress.
The heavens opened while I was visiting old memories around Dun Laoghaire. I ran into a pub. Sat outside in the rain and discovered this little nook. I loved it. Recycled pallets made into sofas and tables. I couldn’t resist taking a picture.Lunch at the yacht club. A really nice break from my day to day life. I met some lovely people and remembered days gone by.
